"THIS IS THE END"
by Brendan Procé

The man tapped his finger on the table. The Spurs and Heat were playing basketball in Miami, and their game was on the white screen. He rubbed his eye and read through the menu. A woman put a pale caramel-coloured drink in front of him on a cardboard coaster. He leaned over and sipped through the green straw. He pushed his palette onto the straw and felt the cylinder push into the hard flesh in his mouth. He bobbed his palette onto the straw. Cylinders are very strong shapes. He sucked the liquid until there was a slurping sound, and then pushed the straw aside with his finger and tilted the glass back for a few cubes. He tapped his finger on the table and sucked on the ice. He watched the men throw the basketball around, and he read the menu. He read the wine list. The used glass was taken away and a fresh drink placed on the coaster. He sucked the liquid through the straw and read the prices of the wines. He read the countries.
